The Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou, Africa's largest film festival
Founded in 1969 Fespaco is held biennially and is the most prestigious African film festival. The top prize, the Étalon de Yennenga (Stallion of Yennenga), has become one of the continent’s most prestigious cultural awards.
The festival plays a central role in the development of African cinema, offering visibility, distribution opportunities and critical recognition to films that might otherwise remain marginalised in global markets. It also serves as a space for debates on African realities, histories and futures.
