Botswana's longest-running performing arts festival, held annually in the capital Gaborone. Maitisong (meaning 'place of entertainment' in Setswana) presents a multi-arts program spanning music, theatre, dance, comedy, and spoken word over 11 days.
As one of the oldest continuously running arts festivals in Southern Africa, Maitisong has been instrumental in developing Botswana's performing arts scene and providing a platform for local artists since 1987.
